March 9, 1948. The Governor General of Canada, His Excellency Lord Alexander, toured Imperial Tobacco in St-Henri and Northern Electric in Pointe-St-Charles. At Imperial Tobacco he was presented with a 15 foot long cigarette.
At Northern Electric, he toured the telephone manufacturing workshop, where he examined long-distance telephone cables.
