Saint Columba house is a community ministry of the United Church of Canada, and provides a wide variety of services and programs for the citizens of Point Saint Charles. It provides leadership in the community, encourages the involvement and empowerment of local citizens in actions, campaigns and programs. They strive to help the residents of the Point to have a voice in the development of the neighbourhood, and beyond.
St. Columba house provides a variety of programs:
- After-School Program
- Alternate School for pre-schoolers
- Children’s Library
- Community Development Program
- Community Lunch Program: serving up to 150 affordable hot lunches daily
- Environment Program
- Hand-in-Hand Program for intellectually challenged adults
- Spirtual Development Program
- Summer Day Camp
- Teen Program
- Volunteer and Student field-work program
- Welfare Rights Program
- Women’s Discussion Group
There are many ways you can help: after-school tutoring, reading books to kids, helping out with the lunch program and much more. You can also donate money, bus tickets, and books for the library.
